<h1>Portland</h1> <p>At first when I heard about the <a href="http://www.portlandstreetcar.org/map.php">Portland Streetcar</a>, I thought it would be just another streetcar. I heard from friends and sources like <a href="http://www.reconnectingamerica.org">Reconnecting America</a> that it was a revolutionary system. It was designed, unlike light rail, to be a local service with many stops. The frequent stops and service make the Portland Streetcar a truly urban system unlike the many suburban oriented light rail systems we see popping up today. I have never been to Portland, but have heard great things about it. I have heard that it is the new San Francisco and that it is now the US's most livable city.
