My name is Daniel Levy, I am 21 years old, and I go to Carleton College in Minnesota. For high school, I went to the Urban School of San Francisco. I have always been fascinated with trains in Oakland because they helped to create it along with many other cities. Trains are also works of art. The amount of detail work and thought that goes into the cars, stations, and buildings is unbelievable (especially in the 1900s). The Bredas in San Francisco are a modern example of some wonderful light rail vehicles.
I feel that trains are the best way to revitalize our cities and to stop urban sprawl. They will help us to reduce car dependency. They are so fun to ride, explore and learn about. There is nothing like riding streetcars through the urban neighborhoods of San Francisco.
